Pathway Packs, PDFs, Attachments, and Retention

Assembling the pack, and what happens to attachments.

Purpose

Pathway packs turn escalation context into printable, shareable, non-diagnostic review packs for internal and external pathways.

Supported pathway packs

  1. SENCO review.
  2. DSL safeguarding review.
  3. CAMHS.
  4. Speech and language therapy.
  5. Occupational therapy.
  6. Educational psychology consultation.

Generate a pack

  1. Open /dashboard.
  2. Find the escalation task.
  3. Choose the pathway template action.
  4. Select the pathway type.
  5. Generate the pathway template.
  6. Review the non-diagnostic wording, recommended actions, checklist, and contact text.
  1. Open the escalation pack page at /dashboard/escalations/[id]/pack.
  2. Review the pathway content.
  3. Use the print/PDF control.
  4. Generated PDF attachments are stored with metadata.

View attachment history

  1. Open the escalation task details or dashboard escalation panel.
  2. Review attachment history.
  3. Check file name, pathway type, export status, expiry, view/download dates, and download count.

Re-download attachments

  1. Open the attachment history.
  2. Click the download/re-download link.
  3. The action is audited.
  4. Expired attachments cannot be downloaded after retention enforcement clears content.

Export status

Attachments can be:

  1. READY - downloadable.
  2. EXPIRED - retained metadata but content cleared.
  3. FAILED - generation/export failed.

Retention controls

  1. Open /dashboard/settings.
  2. Find pack retention settings.
  3. Set the number of days to retain pack content.
  4. Save the setting.
  5. Retention changes are audited.

Retention enforcement

senco clears pack PDFs past their retention date every day, for every school. A pack past its date cannot be downloaded even before that happens. To check the daily job is running, open Settings → Activity & jobs → Scheduled jobs (see Audit Timeline, Exports, and Admin Monitoring).
